About Hubbard Trucking

For Hubbard Trucking, the journey began half a century ago, with a vision to revolutionize top quality carrier (trucking/hauling) services to various companies throughout the United States.

In 1974, Hubbard Trucking was started by Orville and Molly Hubbard in Stinking Creek (Appalachia), Kentucky. Hubbard’s main focus at this time was hauling coal for the local strip miners operating in or about the area. Their area of expertise has obviously changed throughout the years given the economy’s needs and demands; from hauling coal to hauling coal by products (contaminated soil, demo debris, & heavy equipment). In 1988, Joe Hubbard took over alongside Molly.

Continuing to make new relationships, Hubbard began hauling Hazmat material for DOE in 1998 at the Fernald plant, located in Ross, Ohio. Hubbard was accredited for hauling the first load of waste ever dumped in their onsite disposal facility in 1998. We proudly continued to work at the Fernald Site until its closure in 2007 where we removed the last load from the site. Hubbard has supported operations throughout the Oak Ridge Reservation from 2001 to present. Once again in 2001, Hubbard was granted the privilege of dumping the first load of waste in the EMWMF landfill and continues to do so today. For over 18 years, Hubbard has hauled waste out and clean fill in.

After being in Oak Ridge for 11 years, Joe Hubbard, along with Molly Hubbard & Scot Green eventually opted to buy a new company, Turnkey Technical Services. With this purchase, they integrated Turnkey with Hubbard Trucking, eventually Interstate Ventures, and along the road Turnkey Sales.

Hubbard also played a role in building the model for how the transportation hub in Oak Ridge is being used today based on our previous operations at the Oak Ridge Reservation. Prior to the opening of the hub, Hubbard transported material for disposal at the EMWMF landfill from over 100 points of location throughout the Oak Ridge Reservation. Since 2020, Hubbard and Turnkey have managed the Transportation Hub and Haul Road Management Contract for UCOR.

As we look back on the past five decades, we’re reminded of the countless challenges overcome, the countless lives touched, and the countless milestones achieved. And as we look ahead to the next fifty years, we do so with a renewed sense of purpose and determination, knowing that the best is yet to come.
